"Sizzling Controversy: Halal Assurance from Viral Claypot Maestro?"

Ahmad Muzakin Mohd Amir, a viral claypot chicken rice seller, has been accused of using non-halal ingredients, specifically rice wine, in his cooking. In response, he has come forward to clarify that the two bottles in question actually contain sesame oil, which is commonly used in Chinese cooking. He acknowledges that the factory producing the sesame oil does not have a halal certificate but believes the ingredients are not prohibited.

Ahmad Muzakin expresses his commitment to his responsibilities as a Muslim and insists that he does not use any prohibited substances in his cooking. He also emphasizes that the chicken he uses is from a halal source. While his restaurant does not currently have a halal certificate from the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (JAKIM), he plans to apply for one and will be attending a course for this purpose.

Despite facing criticism and potential defamation, Ahmad Muzakin remains steadfast in his commitment to running a halal business for the well-being of his family. He acknowledges his Indonesian ancestry and expresses readiness to answer any questions from customers.

It's important for individuals and businesses to be transparent about their ingredients and adhere to halal standards, especially in a multicultural society like Malaysia. Applying for a halal certificate from JAKIM would be a positive step toward providing assurance to Muslim consumers
